A message to WTA members..
Several of you have contacted WTA to let us know that one of our competitors is approaching members representing themselves as a partner of WTA and requesting account information. Please BEWARE of anyone asking you for your WTA account information. WTA  is an independently owned and operated company. We do business with other trade exchanges but they will never need or have access to your account. The company that is doing this is using the information to access the WTA directory to solicit other WTA members. Not only is this unethical it is dangerous for you as members. WTA cannot protect your personal information from these predators and once they have access to your WTA account, they will also have access to your credit card, tax info and purchasing history and power. Please keep in mind that we would never ask you for your client list for the purpose of supplying it to your competitors. The options for organized trade and barter in Reno are varied and so are the ethics of the folks who operate them. Following are some simple steps you can take to protect your business, inventory, time and money. 

1. Check with the Nevada Secretary of State's office Click Here
2. Check with the City of Reno Click Here 
3. Do a search of the owner's name(s) and ask questions about their background and history Click Here 
4. Ask about the resources of the company - Do they operate a physical office location? How many employees do they have? What resources are available to weather a financial crisis? Remember! It is your time and inventory that we are banking. 
5. Ask to see the membership directory and randomly call several names from the list to ask for a referral.  

Password and Login Reset

July 5 you will be receiving your new secure login and password.  Following are a couple of steps that you need to take to update your account; all of which can be done from the "My Account" tab:

1. Update your business categories - The WTA staff has set this up for you, but it is always a good idea to check and make sure we put your business in the right place. You can also add additional categories in which you specialize. To change or update your categories, click on the "My Categories" tab and locate your main category and then add any sub-categories that apply to your business.   
2. Update your credit card information -  As a security precaution, we did not import your credit card information to the new website. To update your credit card information simply click on the "Payment Set Up" tab and enter your credit card information. Don't forget to hit save!
3. Update your tax information - The WTA staff has already set up your tax information, but please take a- look to make sure we didn't miss anything. 

Please remember to keep your account information private. If you would like to set up additional users, give us a call and we will set them up with their own unique login and password.  
 
We appreciate your patience and help with the move to the new website.  The new platform will not only help you manage your barter account more efficiently, it will also make it easier for other businesses in the alliance to find and do business with you.
